We started by practicing our design on paper, then transferred it onto a special... read more official sheet — from there, the host prints it onto the tile for you. She guided us through each step and created such a supportive environment, always reminding us that help was available if we needed it.
The group ended up being larger than expected due to an Airbnb glitch, but she didn’t skip a beat. You would’ve never known — she stayed calm, organized, and made sure everyone felt taken care of. There were tons of paint colors to choose from, and while it wasn’t quite as easy as she made it look (lol), that was part of the fun — learning, figuring things out, and feeling proud of the final result.
I left with a unique piece of art that I can’t wait to display, and a deeper appreciation for this beautiful Portuguese tradition. Highly recommend if you want a hands-on, cultural experience that is special.

Agathe walked us through the tile-making process with care, allowing our creativity to flow while guiding us to bring our designs to life. She also made us feel right at home with coffee, tea, and sweet treats, which made the experience even more special.

This experience was more focused strictly on the artistic side, and not as geared towards lisbon history or the history of tiles. It was a great experience but was not very lisbon or portugal centric. It was also more on the serious end than the fun end.
We enjoyed overall (and LOVE/are proud of our tiles) but wish it could have been a bit more light-hearted.
